UGC, Emerald Publishing team up to provide e-journal access to 55 BD universities

The University Grants Commission (UGC) and UK-based Emerald Publishing Limited have signed an agreement to provide e-journal access to 55 universities of the country.
Under the agreement, Emerald will facilitate the use of e-journals in business education and research.
Secretary of the UGC Ferdous Zaman and Nirjhar Mukherjee, Business Manager of Emerald Publishing Limited, signed the agreement on Tuesday (November 28) on behalf of their respective organisations.
UGC member Prof Md Sajjad Hossain presided over the signing ceremony.
He said 55 Bangladeshi universities will have easy access to the standard e-journals of Emerald Publishing Limited under the agreement.
Prof Sajjad hoped that this initiative would improve the quality of education and disseminate knowledge in the fields of business education and engineering.
He urged university teachers to use the e-resources of world-renowned publishing houses like Emerald Publishing to enhance the overall quality of higher education and research in the country.
