USAID’s Feed the Future conducts workshop at BAU

USAID's Feed the Future conducted a workshop on ‘Safe Food Preparation, Cooking and Serving’ at Bangladesh Agricultural University.

About 70 hotel owners and employees attended the workshop held in the conference room of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology on Saturday.

Under the chairmanship of Prof Dr Md Saidur Rahman, country's Principal Investigator (PI) of USAID's Feed the Future project’s ‘Enhancing Food Safety in Fish and Chicken Value Chains of Bangladesh’, acting vice-chancellor of BAU Prof Dr Md Abdul Awal was present as the chief guest.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, Prof Dr Khandaker Md Mostafizur Rahman was present as a special guest. Department Chair of the Agricultural Science of Texas State University, Prof Dr Madan M Dey was present as the guest of honour. 

The advisor of student affairs Prof Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid, Prof Dr K H M Nazmul Hussain Nazir from Microbiology and Hygiene Department, Prof Dr Rokshana Parvin from Pathology Department, Prof Dr Abdul Alim from Food Technology and Rural Industry Department was also present.

Prof Dr Md Tanvir Rahman from Microbiology and Hygiene Department was present as the key note speaker.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saidur Rahman said, “Don't feed the university or anyone the food you don't want to feed your family. Gloves must be worn by those preparing and serving food.”
