Uttara University honours teachers on World Teachers’ Day

On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, Uttara University organised a seminar and a special award ceremony to honour the contributions of its distinguished faculty members.

In recognition of their two decades of dedicated, sincere, and successful service in teaching, ten faculty members were presented with special honorary crests.

The Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University, Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, attended the programme as the chief guest and handed over the crests to the award recipients.

In her speech, she expressed respect and gratitude to the teachers, saying, “Teachers are not only transmitters of knowledge but also architects of humanity. Through their wisdom, morality, and compassion, they play a vital role in building a progressive society. Uttara University is truly proud of its devoted and inspiring teachers.”

She further added, “The success of Uttara University stands on the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our teachers. Their commitment to education, research, and ethical values continues to enlighten students and nurture creativity, leadership, and humanity among them.”

Two senior faculty members also shared their reflections on the teaching profession, saying, “Uttara University is not just our workplace—it is our second home. Being a teacher here means being part of a journey to shape the future generation. We wish to continue this noble mission of spreading knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration for the rest of our lives.”

To make the day even more joyful, a raffle draw was arranged for all faculty members from different departments, where ten teachers received attractive prizes, creating an atmosphere of excitement and celebration.

The programme was jointly supported by the Office of Brand and Communication and the Office of Public Relations of Uttara University.

Deans, department chairpersons, professors, teachers, the registrar, and administrative officials were present at the event.
