Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan has said multifaceted obstacles are emerging and will continue to pop up in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election.

He stated that the DUCSU election is a “challenging process” and the university authorities have no complaints about this.

“In some cases, the situation is better than we had feared. We have taken to the field united, with everyone by our side," he said on Monday at the Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom, next to the Vice-Chancellor's Office at the university.

The vice-chancellor said the university had received two court notices and writ petitions in connection with DUCSU. The authorities are trying to face the legal proceedings.

He said, “Today, one candidate appealed to cancel the candidacy of another aspirant. In response, the High Court first suspended the DUCSU election."

"Later, when our lawyers stood against the verdict in the chamber judge's court, the High Court's ruling was also suspended."

"According to our pre-announced schedule, there is no obstacle to the election on the 9th. Our lawyers and everyone are working on that," he added.
