17th Dhaka Int’l Film Fest kicks off on January 10

The 17th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF)-2019 is all set to start in Dhaka on January 10 with the theme ‘Better Film, Better Audience and Better Society’.

The Rainbow Film Society will organise the nine-day festival featuring more than 200 international films including Bangladeshi films that will be screened under the categories of Asian Competition, Retrospective, Bangladesh Panorama, Cinema of the World, Children’s Films, Spiritual Films, Women Filmmakers, Short and Independent Films.

“As part of the festival, many filmmakers, actors and personalities from more than 60 countries will attend the ‘Fifth Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema 2019’ at the Gallery of the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka (AFD) on January 11-12,” a Rainbow Film Parliament official briefed media.

The organisation has been arranging the festival to promote a healthy cine culture in Bangladesh since 1977, reports BSS.

The festival will continue till January 18.
