Shahida’s solo musical evening enthralls Rangpur audience

A solo musical evening styled ‘Smritimoy Sandhya’ of Shahida Akhter Smriti highly entertained the huge audience at Town Hall auditorium in Rangpur city on Saturday night.

Shahida Akhter Smriti, a popular singer of Rangpur, rendered a number of popular modern songs, songs of comedy and songs of tragedy enthralling hundreds of audience of all ages of the divisional city.

Deputy Regional Director of Rangpur Kendra of Bangladesh Betar Md Abdur Rahman addressed a brief discussion arranged in inaugural ceremony of the musical evening as the chief guest.

Former General Secretary of District Shilpokola Academy and Office Secretary of district Awami League Tauhidur Rahman Tutul and Joint General Secretary of district Jatiya Party Abdur Razzaque addressed as special guest.

Chief Music Director of ‘Shikha Sangeet Academy’ Farhan Shahin Lyon, General Secretary of ‘Rangpur Shikha Sangshad’ Abdul Malek, its Drama Affairs Secretary Kabir Hossain and drama artist Rita Siddique also spoke.

Tauhidur Rahman Tutul delivered inaugural speech at the beginning of the musical evening warmly welcoming popular singer Shahida Akhter Smriti, distinguished guests and audience, reports BSS.

Leaders and activists of different cultural, literary and professional organisations, youths, students, civil society members, educationists, singers, artists, journalists and elite of the city were present.

After her performance in the solo music evening, singer Shahida Akhter Smriti thanked local cultural organisations for extending their supports in arranging her solo musical evening in the city. She also expressed her heartfelt deep gratitude to the audience for the affection and love they showed to her.
