The Secretariat of the Climate Justice Forum, hosted by An Organisation for Socio-Economic Development (AOSED), organised the Pre-COP30 National Sharing and Planning Meeting on Thrusday.

The event served as an essential national consultation aimed at fostering inclusive dialogue and strategic collaboration in preparation for the upcoming 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the UNFCCC.

The meeting, presided over by Professor Dr Hamidul Huq of United International University (UIU) and moderated by Shamim Arfeen, Executive Director of AOSED, was held at a city hotel.

In his presentation, Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal Poplu, President of Coastal Voice of Bangladesh, outlined the ongoing initiatives, mission, and vision of the Climate Justice Forum.

He stressed the urgency of a unified national approach to ensuring climate justice, particularly for marginalized and climate-vulnerable communities across Bangladesh.

A major outcome of the meeting was the formation of a National Climate Justice Forum, designed to convene key stakeholders and amplify Bangladesh’s collective voice in global climate dialogues, especially at COP30.

The meeting was structured around strengthening unified national strategies for equitable climate action; building consensus on core advocacy priorities ahead of COP30 and ensuring active participation and representation of grassroots and vulnerable communities in global climate negotiations.

The Climate Justice Forum reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive, transparent, and equity-centered climate governance, and it would continue its advocacy to ensure the voices of the most affected are heard in both national and international arenas.
