The Depression over Jharkhand and adjoining areas moved west-northwesterly direction, weakened into a well-marked low over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday morning.
The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, the centre of the well-marked low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across Southern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to lower signal, read the met office updates, as per a UNB report.
Moreover, the met office has forecast light to moderate rain in all divisions, including Dhaka, in 24 hours commencing 9:00 am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” according to the BMD.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, according to the BMD.
The country’s highest temperature 35 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Dimla over the past 24 hours till 6:00 pm on Saturday, while the lowest temperature 24.5 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Tangail till 6:00 am on Sunday.
