The 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Women's Health Coalition (BWHC) was held at BWHC Bhaban in the city on Saturday, disclosing to serve 70,000 women, adolescents, and girl children with reproductive health in 2024.
Presided over by BWHC Chairperson Jahanara Sadeq, executive committee members and 13 participating general members approved the annual and audit reports.
BWHC Treasurer Kamrun Nahar presented the audit report of 2023 and budget of 2025, which were also passed by the members.
BWHC, established in 1980, is the first organisation working to establish sexual and reproductive health services and rights (SRH&R) for deprived and underprivileged women and adolescents in the country.
BWHC Vice Chairperson Kazi Ali Reza, renowned reproductive health epidemiologist Dr Halida Hanum Akhter, founder of Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra Nasimun Ara Haque Minu, special correspondent of The Financial Express Munima Sultana, and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) senior sub-editor Shahnaj Siddiqui attended the meeting, among others.
The BWHC members formed a 'Media Sub-Committee' to inform and disseminate development information to all stakeholders.
