People from the region of Chittagong need not to depend on foreign or Dhaka hospitals for high standard cardiac healthcare services anymore.
AFC Health Fortis Cardiac Institute established a 63 bed super-specialized hospital in the port city in association with India’s renowned Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center which is providing world class and one-stop solution to the cardiac problems, said a statement.
It is the only hospital in the city to provide 24X7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) treatment to people with massive heart attack.
Over 5,000 patients received services of the hospital during less than one year of its existence. More than 1,000 patients were admitted during this period. Angiogram and Angioplasty were successfully performed on several hundred patients and bypass surgery on over 50 patients. A significant number of critical patients received Primary PCI and Rescue PCI.
