Gazi Group donates PPE to 6 top hospitals in Dhaka

Gazi Group, one of the leading business organizations in the country, has provided lifesaving gear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for health workers, including doctors at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital, Dhaka Shishu Hospital and Dhaka Metropolitan General Hospital in an effort to contain Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

 

Earlier, a consignment of life saving PPE was given to Mugda Medical College and Hospital, National Chest Disease Institute and Hospital (NIDCH) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Member of Parliament Mr. Golam Dastagir Gazi, Chairman of Gazi Group and Hon'ble Minister of Textiles and Jute Ministry (Bir Pratik). Under his direct supervision, consignment of lifesaving materials will be distributed to various hospitals and emergency services in the country in phases.

 

During this time, Vice Principal of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Shahadat Hossain Khan said, “That all the doctors, nurses and health workers of the country are working to fight Covid-19 in Bangladesh. Sample tests for the identification of Covid-19 will begin very soon in our lab under the supervision of the Department of Virology here. In this situation, the Minister of Textiles and Jute Golam Dastagir Gazi (Bir Pratik) has given us quality PPE for the protection of doctors and health workers. We are grateful to him.”

 

Director of Shishu Hospital Prof. Syed Shafi Ahmed said, “The government is working relentlessly to tackle Covid-19 outbreak in Bangladesh. During this unprecedented situation, Hon'ble Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi has came forward with private standard PPE supply. We are grateful for the PPEs that Gazi Group has given to our hospital under his initiative, to keep all of us safe through the crisis, particularly those on the front lines in the healthcare community.”
