The health authorities have detected a case of human metapneumovirus (hMPV) infection for the first time in Bangladesh.
A woman, a resident of the Bhairab area in Kishoreganj, tested positive for the virus. She is currently undergoing treatment at Infectious Disease Hospital in Mohakhali, Dhaka, according to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
The patient has no history of overseas travel.
