Seven more children have died of measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in a 24-hour count.
Of them, three have died of confirmed measles cases and four have died with related symptoms. During this period, 208 new measles cases have been confirmed.
The regular bulletin on measles from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday said that 83 people have died of confirmed cases of the highly-contagious disease across the country since Mar 15.
In addition, 405 people have died with symptoms consistent with the disease.
The highest number -- 160 people -- have died in Dhaka, while 78 have died in the Rajshahi Division.
During this period, 1,423 people have come to hospital with measles symptoms. Of them, 1,279 have been admitted to the hospital.
Dhaka saw the highest number of hospitalisations with measles symptoms over the period, with 517. The lowest number, 15, have been admitted in Rangpur.
The latest count takes the total number of confirmed measles patients to 8,275, while the count of suspected patients has hit 59,279.
