With a noticeable rise in COVID-19 and dengue infections across the country, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has issued a set of special health guidelines to ensure the exams proceed safely ahead Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exam.

According to an official order signed by Professor Dr Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, medical teams will remain active at all exam centers across the country to provide instant healthcare support if any examinee falls ill during the exams.

The directive includes mandatory mask-wearing for all when entering the centers, making hand sanitizers available at the entrances, keeping the surrounding areas of exam centers clean to prevent the spread of dengue, spraying mosquito repellent inside centers before exams begin, Seating arranging seat plans following health and safety standards.

The order also asked each exam center’s medical team to stay fully functional, with maintaining regular communication with local Civil Surgeons or Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers.

Local administrations are also instructed to run awareness campaigns to ensure health protocols are followed and to discourage crowds of guardians outside exam centers.

The order has been circulated to all Deputy Commissioners, Upazila Nirbahi Officers, and District Education Officers marking the matter as highly urgent.

Authorities have urged everyone including teachers and students, to strictly follow the health guidelines for a smooth and safe examination process.

The HSC and equivalent exams are set to begin on June 26.
