A candidate can now attempt the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination a maximum of four times.
Previously, the decision was to allow only three attempts.
The new decision was taken at a meeting of the Advisory Council held on Thursday at the Chief Adviser’s office in Tejgaon, chaired by Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Earlier, in a meeting of the Advisory Council on October 24, it was decided that a candidate will be allowed to sit for the BCS exam a maximum of three times.
The decision sparked various discussions and criticisms. Now, the interim government has revised the decision.
Additionally, in the previous meeting, the maximum age limit for entering government service was set at 32.
