After attending the Eid-ul-Azha congregation at the National Eidgah premises, Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has called on everyone to pray for the welfare of Bangladesh.

On Saturday, he prayed in the front row at the Eidgah grounds adjacent to the High Court. After the sermon, he took part in the prayer service.

After the service, Khatib Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque came forward and exchanged Eid greetings with the chief advisor as they took part in the traditional embrace. Yunus then exchanged greetings with three other advisors, reports bdnews24.com.

The chief advisor then extended his greetings to all, saying: “Today, I saw everyone come together at the Eid congregation. Eid Mubarak to everyone. Everyone, please pray for the country on this holy day. May Allah protect us.”

Then, he left the grounds through the security cordon, waving to everyone. The crowd sent their Eid greetings to the chief advisor. Voices could be heard saying: “Sir, we want you [to stay] for five more years.”

The main Eid congregation at the Eidgah began at 7:30am with Mufti Malek leading the sermon and prayer service.

Interim government advisors Fouzul Kabir Khan, Wahiduddin Mahmud, and Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain were in attendance alongside diplomats, justices, and high-ranking government officials.
