Dhaka Elevated Expressway set to open on Sept 2

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate a part of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway on September 2, a local daily newspaper reports.

The report said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of the ruling Awami League, disclosed the information during the party’s central working committee meeting held on Saturday night at the Ganabhaban.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Tejgaon section of the expressway, the ruling party will hold a public meeting in Dhaka on that day.

The party also deferred its rally that was scheduled for September 2 in Sylhet. This rally will be held in October.

Saying similar projects are scheduled for inauguration by October, prior to the announcement of the national election schedule, she informed her party members that a large-scale public gathering will be organised to mark the opening of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway.
