Emergency workers have taken control of a fire that broke out at a slum in Dhaka's Mirpur.
The Fire Service and Defence said the incident was reported around 12:45 pm on Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
Eight firefighting units were dispatched to the Jhilpar slum in Mirpur-12 to douse the fire, said Lima Khanam, a Fire Service control room officer.
The firemen, aided by army personnel, were able to tame the flames by 2 pm.
Authorities have yet to identify the source and extent of the damage caused by the fire.
No casualties have been reported in the incident.
