At least five people died as a pickup van rammed a parked covered van in the City Gate area of Chattogram.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Akbar Shah Thana around 5:15 am on Monday, as per a bdnews24.com report.
Four more people were injured in the accident. Akbar Shah Police Station Sub Inspector Sajjad Hossain said that the pickup was coming from Faujdarhat in Sitakunda to the port city when it hit a covered van parked on the side of the road from behind.
At least five people died on the spot, he said, adding four other people with injuries were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
