Muhammad Yunus, head of the interim government, has left Dhaka for France early in the morning, weeks after stepping down from office.
On Wednesday, an airport source said Yunus departed at 6:50am on a Turkish Airlines flight and was given VIP protocol at Shahjalal International Airport.
Airport Executive Director SM Ragib Samad confirmed the departure.
After stepping down as chief adviser, Yunus had remained in Bangladesh, while his office, Yunus Centre, continued issuing updates on his activities.
However, it did not announce the France trip beforehand.
