GPH instals solar system to ensure sustainable and green Bangladesh

At the installation ceremony, GPH Executive Director for Finance and Business Development Kamrul Islam, Chief Operating Officer T Mohan Babu, BUET Department of EEE Professor Dr. Md Ziaur Rahman Khan, United International University Director of Centre for Energy Research Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury and GPH Renewable Energy Limited Project Director Mosiur Rahman were present.

GPH Ispat has installed solar PV systems on its factory premises and rooftops to ensure a cleaner and greener Bangladesh.

GPH Ispat Ltd. and Eco Ceramics, a concern of GPH Group, commissioned 3.9 MWp and 2.14 MWp rooftop solar PV systems recently from its rerolling mills in Chattogram and Eco Bricks factory in Munshiganj respectively.

At the installation ceremony, GPH Executive Director for Finance and Business Development Kamrul Islam, Chief Operating Officer T Mohan Babu, BUET Depart-ment of EEE Professor Dr. Md Ziaur Rahman Khan, United International Univer-sity Director of Centre for Energy Research Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury and GPH Renewable Energy Limited Project Director Mosiur Rahman were present.

The installed rooftop solar PV systems will generate 132.8 million units of electricity in its project life of 20 years and will reduce the carbon footprint of GPH Group by cutting 89,000 tonnes of CO2 from the national grid and will contribute to a cleaner and greener Bangladesh and fulfil commitments towards COP and global climate targets. The solar systems were installed with soft loan support from IDCOL (Infrastructure Development Company Ltd).
