Iran's General Staff of the Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi has denied firing any missiles towards Israel in the last few hours, BBC reports citing Iranian state media.

This comes after earlier denials in state media, which said reports that Iran had attacked Israel after the start of the ceasefire were false, according to BBC.

Israel struck Iran in three stages early on Tuesday, up until 9 a.m. local time (0530 GMT), the spokesperson of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters said, Reuters reports citing Iranian state TV.

Iranian state TV earlier said a ceasefire would take place in Iran from 7:30 a.m. local time (0400 GMT) on Tuesday.

Trump posted on Truth Social just after 0500 GMT that the ceasefire had taken effect.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council, its top security body, earlier said its armed forces were prepared to "decisively respond" to renewed attacks.
