The official Facebook page of Islami Bank Bangladesh was hacked early Friday, with attackers posting a threatening message and altering the page’s profile and cover photos.
A hacking group identifying itself as 'Team MS 47OX' claimed responsibility in a post at 5:42 am, warning that it was monitoring the bank’s operations and might soon launch cyberattacks on its website and Facebook page, UNB reports.
A review of the page showed that while the name remained unchanged, the visuals were replaced with images linked to the group. Some users also reported seeing unusual posts around the time of the breach.
Nazrul Islam, head of public relations at Islami Bank, confirmed the incident, saying the page had been hacked early in the morning and that the bank’s IT department was working to restore control.
