Bangladesh Bhumiheen Andolon and Rastro Songskar Krishak Andolon on Sunday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Adviser demanding the formation of the Agricultural Reform Commission.
Hasnat Kaiyum, chief coordinator of Rastro Songskar Andolon, submitted the memorandum.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Bhumiheen Andolon and Rastro Songskar Krishak Andolon jointly organised a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
During the rally, they also placed a memorandum with an 8-point demand to the Chief Adviser.
Addressing the rally Hasnat Kaiyum, said, "Sixty-four per cent people in Bangladesh are landless. Still, at least 70 per cent of the population is engaged in agriculture or agriculture-related professions. Marginalised people have played the most significant role in various movements."
He also urged the government to immediately establish an Agricultural Reform Commission and deliver a roadmap for justice, reform and elections.
