Abdul Kuddus, a member of parliament from Natore-4 constituency, passed away on Wednesday morning.
He was a freedom fighter and the president of the Natore district unit of the ruling Awami League.
The lawmaker breathed his last around 7:20 am while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of United Hospital on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The 77-year-old politician left behind his wife, a son and a daughter, and a host of relatives to mourn his death. Kuddus was elected MP from Natore-4 constituency five times.
He had been suffering from old age complications including respiratory problems.
Earlier on Saturday, the Awami League leader fell ill and was brought to Dhaka.
