The National Board of Revenue (NBR) Reforms Unity Council has withdrawn its complete shutdown programme following negotiations with the government, facilitated by leading business leaders.
NBR Reforms Unity Council President Hasan Mohammad Tarek Rikabder made the announcement at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) office in Tejgaon on Sunday evening, after a meeting with prominent figures from the business community.
Speaking at the event, the Reforms Unity Council President said, “Responding to the requests from top business leaders and considering the need to maintain a smooth supply chain for export and import in the interest of the economy and the public, we have decided to withdraw the complete shutdown programme.”
However, he affirmed that the platform will continue its activities in pursuit of a sustainable and transparent revenue system.
