Barrister Sayedul Haque Sumon, independent candidate in Habiganj-4 constituency and a renowned social media personality, defeated Awami League candidate and incumbent State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali in the 12th parliamentary election on Sunday.
Sumon bagged the seat getting 169,099 votes where his nearest rival incumbent State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali got 69,543 votes.
Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman works as a prosecutor of International Crimes Tribunals. Although Suman is a lawyer, he is widely known for his social media activities.
He raises voice against social injustice, corruption, and social problems through social media especially Facebook that makes himself a star within a short time.
