Two killed in truck-CNG collision in Bogura

At least two people were killed and five others injured in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Nandigram upazila of Bogura on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Arafat Hossain (22), the CNG driver and son of Shafiqul Islam from Katham Dakshinpara area of the upazila, and Hawa Bibi (50), a passenger of the CNG and wife of Nazu Hazi from Bisha village.

Among the injured, three were passengers of the CNG and two pedestrians.

The accident took place in the Kundarhat area on the Bogura-Natore highway around 11:45 am.

Nirmal Chandra Mohanto, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kundarhat Highway Police Station, said that they seized the courier service truck.

The bodies have been kept at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue and these will be handed over to the families after completion of legal procedures, said the OC.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, he added.
