The High Court has issued a rule questioning the legality and constitutionality of abolishment of caretaker government system by fifteenth amendment of the constitution of Bangladesh.
The HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Sashanka Shekhar Sarkar issued the rule and sought an explanation within eight weeks after a hearing on a writ petition on Monday.
Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Sujan) Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar and four other citizens filed the writ petition.
On June 30, 2011, the 15th amendment to the constitution of Bangladesh was made during the then Awami League-led government.
