Role: Head of Transmission Network

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead team to develop strategy and the Transport Network Plan and Operations activities based on the short-term and long-term business plan.
• Guide team (Microwave and Optical) to take ownership and decisions regarding the implementation of the Transport Network Plan.
• Understand stakeholder's requirements on network capacity; Scrutinize and prioritize requirements made by stakeholders, set objectives, deploy resources, and execute through a team.
• Custodian of the total Transport NW (Microwave and Optical) budget (Capex/Opex) and provide necessary approvals.
• Remain up to date with the evolution of technology in all domains through different sources internationally.
• Interface with technical vendors to review their product line innovation, obtain market trend analysis, and use them to upgrade BL Transmission NW.
• Provide useful planning initiatives through fiber/MW to optimize, simplify, protect mechanisms, and improve the quality of the existing Transport Network using the available resources.
• Lead and oversee Proactive Management to ensure the quality of the end-to-end Transport Network by determining the best available protective solutions that will overcome any possible network problems.
• Analyze the best solutions suggested by the team members on the critical transport network issues and properly decide on the same to restore the sites/Fiber NW within the shortest possible time, ensuring minimum outage.
• Monitor and control Transmission NW operations processes to ensure quality assurance.
• Manage performance of direct reports through objective setting, continuous training and feedback, and formal appraisal.

Requirements:

• BSc in Electrical and Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years of relevant managerial experience in the telecom industry.
• Hands-on experience in GSM Technology (Core, RAN) and Architecture.
• Expert-level understanding of transmission design, dimensioning, and operational activities.
• Sound familiarity with 5G Transmission Technology and Architecture.
• Thorough knowledge of IP Transmission Technology and Architecture.
• Sound knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Sound knowledge of AI/ BI/VR etc.
• Must have a thorough understanding of the Bangladesh telecom market and NTTN guidelines.
• Must have modern leadership traits to lead various teams.
• Must have solid presentation skills/must be a team player.
