Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3: 'Beginning of the End'

Attack on Titan has been one of the best Shounen anime for the last decade. Since 2013, this anime has never disappointed the fans. The mystery, suspense, and human fight for freedom were depicted in bewildering twists and turns, leaving viewers with numerous cliffhangers.

The final season of AOT started in late December 2020 and was divided into three parts. The first two parts depicted the protagonist and anti-hero Eren Yeager's fight against the Marleyans and his struggle for the Eldian's freedom, but ultimately, he initiated the end of humanity, aka the Rumbling. The penultimate part of season four is here now: Will Eren and his Rumbling be stopped by the Alliance?

Part 3 of season 4 mainly follows the War for Paradis arc from the original manga by Hajime Isayama. Instead of short-duration episodes, this part will consist of one-hour specials. The first episode, titled ‘The Final Chapters (Part One)’, was released on 3rd March, and the story starts right after the end of the final episode of part 2, where Eren started the Rumbling on the Marleyan mainland.

But Eren is not alone in his genocide mission; he has his brother Zeke and the Yeagerists on his side. However, his friends and many of his foes do not approve of his plan, so they form an uneasy alliance to stop Eren once and for all. The one-hour special is not short of action and suspense.

The Survey Corps leader Hange has been the focus for many episodes, foreshadowing her death. She dies a heroic and heartbreaking death while trying to buy time for the Alliance. As one of this show's most charismatic and clever characters, Hange will leave a mark on the audience.

Hange's sacrifice does not go in vain, as the Alliance finally gets to fight Eren and Zeke face to face. Armin Arlert, one of the close friends of Eren and the current colossal Titan, still tries to find a peaceful solution.

The hour-long episode ends with the start of a breathtaking aerial battle between Zeke as the beast titan and the Alliance, and Armin's negotiation with Eren, staying true to his character.

The second and final episode of season four will be released in the Fall of 2023.

How can Eren be stopped? Is it Armin's negotiation? Or is it Mikasa and the Allies' fighting? The manga readers may know, but the anime fans will have to wait.
