Actor Somu Chowdhury was found in an unwell condition at a shrine in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh, according to sources from Actors Equity and local police.
Local police and Actors Equity have confirmed the matter.
Actors Equity general secretary Rashed Mamun Apu said, “We have contacted Pagla Police Station for assistance.
“Once he is brought to the station, we will arrange to bring him to Dhaka. Further details will be known after his arrival.”
Officer-in-Charge of Pagla Police Station, Ferdous Alam said, “A team has been dispatched to the location.
“He appears to be unwell. We will be able to provide more information once he is brought to the station.”
Actor Somu Chowdhury, known for his work in theatre and film, made his film debut in 1995 with Adorer Shontan.
He later appeared in Dolon Champa, Shoto Jonomer Prem, Mayer Odhikar, Desh Dordi, Maron Niye Khela, Premer Nam Bedona, Jabi Koi, and Sundori Bodhu.
