Breakout talents in entertainment industry to look out for this year

Bangladesh's entertainment industry is currently experiencing a surge of fresh talent, with a new generation of actors, singers, and performers taking the spotlight. 

From rising stars in the film industry to breakout musicians making waves in the country's vibrant music scene, many emerging talents entered the Bangladeshi showbiz world in 2022 and are worth looking out for this year.

Animes Roy

Animes, discovered by none other than Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, truly embodies the essence of music with his energetic and signature tone as soon as he began performing the Hajong original 'Nasek Nasek' in the inaugural season of Coke Studio Bangla this year. 

His natural flair and growing hunger for creating compositions are unmatched. Although Animes can adapt to any stage, his videos showcasing his uke playing in picturesque locations truly showcase his talent at its best.

Masha Islam

Masha started showing her musical abilities on YouTube during her teenage years back in 2016. It didn't take long for the prodigy to receive recognition for her incredible voice, and she went on to perform alongside Shafquat Amanat Ali. 

Her breakthrough moment came in 2022, with her viral hit 'Teka Pakhi' propelling her to mainstream fame. 

Masha's talents are limitless as she effortlessly sings, plays the guitar and even dances. She's recently done an advertisement where she looked composed, making a statement that she can be a good actor too.

Imtiaz Barshon

Imtiaz came into the spotlight by acting in the popular Hoichoi OTT series Kaiser. He played the mysterious and level-headed villain Barrister in the series, which was praised by the audience. 

His acting in Ora 7 Jon and Nishwas, which was released in 2022, were also critically acclaimed. 

He acted in multiple web series and dramas set to release this year, so the audience might see more of his acting brilliance.


Soumyo received widespread acclaim for his role in the Hoichoi web series 'Kaiser,' directed by Tanim Noor. He will be seen playing the young Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar's upcoming film 'Tungiparar Dushshahoshi Khoka.' 

Dibbyo, on the other hand, made a strong impression in the second part of the highly-anticipated Hoichoi series 'Karagar' and has also worked in Shyam Benegal's 'Mujib: The Making of a Nation.' 

Sons of the renowned actors Brindaban Das and Shahnaz Khushi, the two brothers are expected to carry on the legacy of their parents.

Sadia S Ayman

Sadia S Ayman has recently made a name for herself in the Showbiz industry with her charm and talent. Regular OTT viewers might know her from her role as Sara in 'Mayashalik.' 

Her upcoming works on OTT platforms include 'Kabadi' on Bioscope and 'Internsheep' on Chorki, further establishing her as a promising face in the industry.

Shahnaz Sumi

Although Shahnaz is known for her role in the successful sports film 'Damal,' she initially gained fame with her debut in the Gias Uddin Selim-directed film "Paap Punyo" in 2022. 

Her classic Bengali appearance, combined with her talent and skill in the industry, ensures that she has a promising future ahead.

Tanjim Saiyara Totini

Totini earned this nickname from 'Suhashini' for her role in Mizanur Rahman Aryan's telefilm of the same name. She is widely praised by audiences and industry professionals alike for her lively personality, as she continues to excel in projects such as 'Bahcibar Holo Tar Shadh,' 'Ei Muhurte' and more. 

She will also be starring alongside Jaya Ahsan in the upcoming film 'Jaya aar Sharmin.'

Mir Naufel Ashrafi Jisan

Jisan began his acting career with Goutam Ghose's 'Moner Manush' and made a strong impression in the entertainment industry late this year with his performance in the second season of 'Karagar.' 

Despite mixed reviews of the series, his acting was widely praised by critics and industry professionals alike. He is currently working on the government-funded film 'Gangkumari' and the OTT series 'Overtrump' on Chorki.
