Renowned cinematographer Afzal Chowdhury has passed away. He breathed his last on Thursday (31st August) while undergoing treatment at the capital’s United Hospital.
He was 93.
According to his family members, he had been suffering from old-age complications for a long time.
In a condolence message, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Born in Sirajganj in 1931, Afzal Chowdhury developed a fondness for photography at an early age.
He shot many films in Dhaka under the direction of renowned filmmaker Zahir Raihan and many other directors.
