Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest cinematic venture, 'Jawan,' is setting the Indian box office on fire, achieving unprecedented milestones in its initial days of release.

The Atlee-directed film, which boasts Khan in the lead role, has captured the hearts and wallets of moviegoers nationwide, and its meteoric rise is nothing short of astounding.

The movie stormed into theatres with an unmatchable vigour, raking in nearly INR 111 crore in just the first two days of its Hindi-language release. The third-day performance is also shaping up to be nothing less than extraordinary.

Early indicators suggest that Jawan is poised to accumulate a staggering INR 62 to 64 crore on its third day, marking an unparalleled phenomenon in the Indian box office. Multiplex chains have already surpassed their full-day Friday earnings by 3 PM on Saturday, a clear sign of the film's monumental success.

Miraj, India's third-largest national chain, which garnered INR 1.77 crore on Friday, had already surpassed INR 1.25 crore on Saturday at noon. Similarly, MovieMax, which grossed INR 73 lakh on Friday, stood at INR60 lakh by noon on Saturday.

The 3 biggest national multiplex chains, PVR, Inox and Cinepolis, are also on par with the first-day collection or even higher.

The surge in business on Saturday is a promising indicator of something extraordinary brewing for 'Jawan' in the long run. Many centres are facing capacity issues today, and this overflow promises another substantial surge in collections on Sunday, setting the stage for a strong Monday as well.

As we are only halfway through the day, the possibility of 'Jawan' surpassing its opening day business cannot be ruled out, especially with the anticipation of a significant influx of walk-ins during evening and night shows, particularly in the interiors.

On a day-to-day basis, 'Jawan' is outperforming all three post-pandemic blockbusters— 'KGF 2,' 'Pathaan,' and 'Gadar 2.' However, a more definitive assessment will only be possible after its Monday performance.

The three-day trend signifies strong word-of-mouth support from the audience, and the runway is wide open for 'Jawan' to continue its successful run for not just a few weeks but at least a month more, capitalising on upcoming holidays such as Ganapathi and Gandhi Jayanti.

The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film are also experiencing significant gains in business on Saturday, with third-day earnings expected to range between INR 7.5 to 8.5 crore. This catapults the nationwide third-day total of Jawan to over INR 70 crore, with the three-day total collection potentially inching towards the INR 200 crore mark.

And then comes the film's global box office, where SRK is the undisputed face of Indian cinema. The superstar has 15 movies that collected more than USD 10 million overseas.

While most films struggle to cross the USD 10 million mark in their lifetime run, Jawan has gone over that coveted mark within 2 days only, and 22+ million 4-day weekend is a given.
