It's 3 a.m. The world outside is still quiet, but you're far from sleeping. You have a class at 8:30 a.m., your alarm is set for 6 a.m., and you should have been asleep by now. Instead, you're glued to your phone, scrolling through endless comments. What started as a casual glance has turned into an obsession. Hundreds of comments, one after the other, have just sucked you in. You know that you should stop scrolling, but each comment is spicier than the last, filled with counter-attacks, memes and gifs.

The funnier it gets, the more your sleep disappears. Whatever is being argued here barely matters to anyone, but it's all about the entertainment people get from it. And welcome to the open mic comedy show of the internet, the comment section drama that always stays in trend.

Sometimes, the comment section turns into a battleground, and you don't need any sword or shield to participate in this battle; you only need a device with an internet connection.

Also, every comment section of a drama has its cast of characters. The first one is the expert, also well known as a jack of all trades, with a PhD in every subject. They are always ready to write an essay with proper citations, whether sports or politics, science, movies, series, etc. You'll keep wondering how this man can get so much information about everything.

Then there's the meme lord, prepared with the perfect gif for every moment. These members don't need words; they just let their well-placed memes steal the show.

But the comment section is incomplete with the person who has no clue about the matter and keeps screaming, "Bro, what's the context?" Then there's a special breed of people like you who never comment but read those comments while grabbing the bowl of popcorn.

Though they never participate in the argument, they sometimes drop a reaction on their favourite comment, but only from a safe distance.

If you ever want to see pure, unfiltered comment section chaos, never underestimate a post about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. All someone has to do is post something like Ronaldo is the "GOAT", and suddenly, Messi fans will enter the battleground with whatever they have. Messi fans will start throwing all the stats, while Ronaldo fans will start arguments like they're defending a case in court. And then comes the moment when Messi fans unleash their ultimate weapon: "Messi has a World Cup!" And damn! That's the ultimate mic drop moment.

Until now, it's been a harmless comment section drama filled with pure comedic gold. However, the problem is that comment section drama is only sometimes harmless. Sometimes, these arguments can turn into bullying, trolling, or harassment.

For example, on August 5, after 16 long years of oppressive rule, the people of Bangladesh finally put an end to a fascist regime. It was a moment of victory, a triumph for democracy and freedom. But as the political tides shifted, some darker forces took advantage of the chaos. Naturally, people took to social media to spread awareness and demand justice. But instead of thoughtful discussion, the comment sections became battlegrounds for political trolling. Rather than addressing the issue seriously, many comments were dismissive or downright mocking. Some comments were derogatory as well. We often witness social media trials through these comments. By looking at these comments, one can only understand how public opinion is formed and circulated through a simple status. People get trauma

While some dramas like the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate are lighthearted, others have real consequences. When meaningful conversations get drowned in sarcasm and trolling, it diminishes the gravity of the issues and makes it harder to find solutions. But in the end, comment section drama is one of the internet's most significant forms of entertainment. It's unpredictable, often absurd, and strangely addictive. So the next time you lurk in a comment section and watch strangers argue about the most trivial topics, remember that you have a class at 8:30 a.m., and your 6 a.m. alarm still awaits you.
