December- the month that makes you go, "Gosh! She got hitched too", the month when our socials got flooded with "Alhamdulillah, we both said Kubool" and tons of wedding invitations.

But did you notice that while grooms have a similar pattern that goes with a nervous smile and a classic sherwani, brides are like snowflakes? There's no similarity between the two brides, and no, it's not about their gorgeous lehenga, statement jewellery or makeup. Their personalities make each bride shine in their unique way. Each wedding has a different TV show playing with different characters; you won't find carbon copies of brides.

Types of brides we can see

First up in our wedding gallery, we have a "Main Character Energy" bride who ensures everyone knows it's her day. From stepping up to the venue to bid bye to the last guest, she makes sure no one's taking her thunder. She is at the centre of the stage, clicking single Instagrammable pictures and lovey-dovey pictures with her husband and relatives to ensure her wedding hashtag is trending.

But ain't this what being a bride means? Moving on to the next bridal personality, "The Emotional One". Her tears of joy or fear start from morning preparation to her bidaai. She cries when her mom manages everything alone or when her dad is patting her head. Sweet but dear bridesmaids, be ready with tissue and make sure the MUA uses waterproof makeup.

Then there's the "Foodie" bride. While others go dieting to fit into their dream dress, this one can't afford to lose the opportunity to taste every dish on the menu. You'll probably find her standing in front of food stalls, sneakingly gulping bites between ceremonies as she ensures her guests enjoy the best biriyani in town by testing it for the nth time.

Let's not forget the next one, "Filmy Bride", which is all about "Lights, camera, action". This bride is a Bollywood buff who desires to recreate each of them. She and her bridesmaid practised their dance moves the whole month, and her wedding album looks straight out of some movie poster.

Let's talk about the " Comedian" bride who cracks jokes during her ceremony, clicks funny photos, and keeps everyone in a jolly mood. Who says weddings have to be formal and serious? Her happiness is so infectious that it makes the grumpiest uncle smile. Making her grand entrance, the "Miss Perfectionist" thinks everything must go exactly as planned. She has a spreadsheet and rehearses the wedding day minute by minute. But thanks to her planning, everything goes smoothly, minus the annoyance of her bridesmaid and family.

Turning the spotlight to the "Self-obsessed" bride, who ensures everything goes perfectly, from the roses in her bun to her nail paint. Miss "Mirror, mirror on the wall" will check her reflection in every shiny object and make sure she gets the best portrait.

Let's talk about the "Impatient one" who can't wait to get hitched. "Are we there yet?" " Why are they so late?" This bride can't wait to start her life. She'll rush her MUA and speed up the ceremony like she has a train to hop on.

Primarily seen in the 90s, these "Shy brides" blush at each compliment and say her "kubool" so softly that it's inaudible sometimes. But her smile surely lights up the room.

Last but not least, there's "Modern-Traditional Mix", where the bride rocks a traditional lehenga with sneakers under it. This bride blends old and new, a perfect combination of yesterday and tomorrow.

Every bride is unique in her way; whether she is wiping happy tears or cracking jokes, each of them brings their charm onto the stage on their big day. It's not about the lehenga or statement jewellery; it's the happiness that radiates from within. After all, true happiness is the best makeup, and love is the best filter. Here's to all brides, "may your smiles be bright and your wedding be as unique as you are."
