Pets can provide happiness and comfort in this world filled with self-sufficient individuals, as well as spice up your hectic and boring existence. Since pets show their owners such unselfish devotion, many people even believe that they make better friends than people.
A lot of specialists advise anyone who is depressed and lonely to bring a pet home. This article may help you decide which pet is best for you.
In the context of Bangladesh, the most common pet is a cat—most of the residents of cities like to adopt a cat rather than other animals. Also, dogs, fish, and birds can be ideal pets.
In village areas, birds like pigeons, hens, ducks, and love birds are very common. Nowadays birds are also seen to be kept as a pet among the city dwellers. If you want to keep a pet dog, you should take care of it differently than a cat.

"Tiger is frequently in need of attention and is quite affectionate," says Nandiny Ahasun, a third-year Journalism student from the University of Dhaka, describing her dog.
Among all animals, dogs exhibit the highest level of loyalty. When human pals are unable to support you, they will provide you with emotional support and unconditional affection.
She continues, "I have two cats, too, but Tiger is much more laid back than them; cats require more time and care than dogs. Additionally, my cats always throw fits when they don't get their food, but Tiger consumes anything that is offered to him with ease."
"Tiger is well-mannered and consistently consumes his food on time, in contrast to my cats, which were challenging to train. They enjoy engaging in activities just to their interests," she says.
Dogs require their owners' attention, but cats may play, be by themselves, and spend time on their own. Cats are independent. In contrast to dogs, who can be costly, noisy, and violent and who require a larger living space, cats can live in a smaller space and are also quiet, clean, and less expensive to own as pets.
Cats are popular companion animals because of their endearing personalities and generally quiet and clean nature.

"Puchu is more akin to my kid. She always runs to me when I get home from university, and it makes my heart melt. She eats and sleeps with me even when I'm video chatting with someone she visits, and that is really fun," remarks Rufaida Ahmed, a BRAC University second-year BBA student.
Cats like to follow their desires; they have no desire to appease others. While dogs are always loyal to their owners and will always follow their wishes, cats will always roam around you when they want to spend their time with you.

About her pet cats Leo and Shiro, Jannatul Ferdous, a second-year BBA student at Shanto-Mariam University, says, "They are cleanliness freaks; they do not use the same litterbox and do not use it if the litterbox is dirty. I have kept two individual boxes for both of them."
Fish and birds are great substitute pets for people who have limited room or are allergic to other typical pets. However, they are highly vulnerable. Fish can quickly perish if something goes wrong, but if a dog or cat becomes ill and is taken to the doctor, they can recover with the right care.
Birds also readily contract diseases from the others of their species. In fact, if one of a pair of birds becomes unwell, the other bird is very certain to follow suit. It follows that keeping a fish or a bird as a pet requires extreme caution and responsibility.

"I have done a lot of research on fish. I have set up a 600-liter tank for them. It is a self-sustaining ecosystem; they can survive without me providing food," says Nasimul Islam, a second-year CSE student at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).
Fish make good aquatic pets. Thus, it requires extra attention. "I like the environment they live in, and in that environment, their activities make me feel happier than other things. Thus, I made an effort to give them the same kind of home that they are used to," he adds, expressing his feelings.
Everybody's preferences for pets are unique. It would help if you took in a pet only when you are ready to take the responsibility.
