A tribunal here on Thursday sentenced 10 people to life term imprisonment each for killing a college student at Kumirdanga village in Terokhada upazila in 2009.
Khulna Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge MA Rab Hawladar passed the order, reports UNB.
The convicts are Nabir Hossain, Tayubur Rahman, Aka Mia Sheikh, Khaza Mia, Bulu Mia, Asikar Sheikh, Chan Mia Sheikh, Monir Sheikh, Yahia Sheikh and Kamal Sheikh of Kumirdanga village.
All the convicts were present on the dock.
According to the case statement, Sheikh Badrudoza, a student of Government Bangabandhu College in Khulna, had an argument with the convicts when he protested the disturbance of some children during Johr prayers in a mosque on September 13 in 2009.
At one stage, the convicts beat up Badrudoza, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, the victim's brother filed a case with Terokhada Police Station over the matter accusing 12 people.
