A total of 75 foreigners, including 11 Bangladeshis, have been arrested in Malaysia for alleged prostitution.
The immigration department of the country conducted several drives at different area in the capital and arrested them—57 women, and 18 men—on Thursday (July 4).
Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, director general of immigration department of Malaysia, said the raids were conducted at eight separate locations in the capital Kuala Lumpur around 2:30 pm.
The operation was carried out after two weeks of surveillance based on the complaints of local residents and intelligence information, he added.
Among the arrestees, 32 people were from Indonesia, 11 from Bangladesh, 8 from Vietnam, and 6 were from India, according to the media reports.
