The first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination in five districts under the Chattogram Education Board (CEB) was held peacefully here on Thursday.
CEB Control Room sources said a total of 1,173 students were absent in the Bangla first paper examination, reports BSS.
A total of 123,271 out of 124,444 enrolled examinees from 1,125 high schools appeared in the examination at 219 centers.
However, there is no report of expulsion of examinees under CEB centers for adopting unfair means or violation of discipline on the first day of the biggest public exam at the secondary level.
The controller of the examination of CEB, Prof. Dr. Parvej Sazzad Chowdhury, told BSS that the examination was held peacefully, and 72 vigilance teams, including 12 special ones, were deployed in the exam centers to complete the exam in a fair and peaceful manner.
Authorities have taken adequate security measures to maintain the conducive atmosphere in and around the exam centers.
The jurisdiction of the board covers the Chattogram Metropolitan City and district, as well as the Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban districts.
