Bangladesh on Thursday reported deaths of 13 coronavirus patients in 24 hours -- its highest single-day fatality so far -- as the death toll rose to 199.
The Directorate General of Health Services announced the number in a press release, reports UNB.
Earlier, Bangladesh saw another jump in the coronavirus cases as 706 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours till Thursday, taking the total number of infected people to 12,425.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) announced the numbers of infected in daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
In the last 24 hours, coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 5,567 samples, she added.
