At least 13 vehicles were torched in 27 hours across the country amid the countrywide 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP-led oppositions, according to the media cell of the fire service.
The vehicles that were set on fire include seven buses, four covered vans, and two trucks, according to local media reports.
Talha bin Jasim, station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (media cell), said that they received information about these fire incidents between 6:00 am on Wednesday and 9:00 am on Thursday.
Among them, five vehicles were burnt in Hazaribagh, Tantibazar, Kakali, Mirpur, and Dhanmondi of Dhaka, three in Gazipur district, one in Khagrachari, one in Shivganj upazila of Nawabganj district, two in Gournadi upazila of Barisal district, and another in Noakhali.
