At least 1,351 women were raped and in the first 11 months of current calendar year across the country, showing considerable hike in the social menace compared to last year, according to report of an independent rights body.
As many as 732 women were raped in 2018, the Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) report reveals.
Of them, 66 were murdered after rape between January and November, the ASK data revealed.
Eleven victims committed suicide after rape during the period, the report said.
The independent rights body also mentioned that a total of 949 cases were filed in connection with the incidents between January and November.
Besides, 211 incidents of rape attempts occurred during the period, it added.
