A total of 138 new dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours until Friday morning, taking the total number of cases to 14,069 this year.
Of the total, the highest 60 hospitalisation cases were reported in Barishal division, which is the most affected division this year, taking the total figure there to 5,956.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Chattogram division so far reported 2,019 cases this year, Dhaka division 1,507 cases, Dhaka South City 1,888 cases, Dhaka North City 1,142 cases, and Rajshahi 739 cases.
Currently 1,271 dengue patients are admitted to hospitals countrywide for treatment, while 12,744 patients have been released.
Month-wise, June recorded the highest of 5,951 dengue-positive cases, followed by 3,773 in 11 days of July, 1,773 in May, and 1,161 in January.
Though no fresh death was reported in the last 24 hours, dengue has so far claimed 54 lives this year.
