Police in anti-drug drives on Saturday arrested 17 people from the city's Dakshinkhan area on charges of trading and consuming drugs.
Members of Dakshinkhan Police Station in association with Dog Squad of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted the joint drives at Kotbari, Faidabad, Choarirtek, Balumath, Morghat amd Madhubagh areas in the noon.
Police also recovered two knives, 237 yaba tablets and 500 grams hemp during the drive, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of DMP, reports UNB.
