1.7-kg gold recovered from passenger at Ctg airport

Officials of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) seized different gold items weighing 1.7 kilograms worth about Tk 15 million from a passenger coming from Sharjah at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport today (Sept 22).

"The gold items were recovered from a passenger named Mohammad Ali who arrived here from Dubai on an Air Arabia flight at 7:24 am on Friday. He was tactfully carrying the gold items in a rice cooker," said Ahsan Ullah, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Custom House.

Based on secrete information, the Customs team intercepted Md Ali at the airport with the gold items, he added.
