In a reshuffle in the judiciary, a total of 253 lower court judges were transferred on Monday, according to a notification issued by the law ministry.
Among them, 30 are District and Sessions Judges, 38 are Additional District and Sessions Judges and 23 are Joint District and Sessions Judges and 162 are Senior Assistant Judges.
Besides, the government has promoted 12 Senior Assistant Judges to Joint District and Sessions Judge.
