At least 30 workers were injured as a worker-carrying bus fell into a roadside ditch in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday.
The accident took place at the Kutrapara Mor area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway while the bus was trying to overtake a truck in the morning.
Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers, sending them to the district general hospital for treatment.
Hospital sources said that 19 injured people are currently being treated, with most of them being female workers.
The bus was carrying workers from Ashuganj to a bag factory in the Kutrapara area
Khantihata Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Sajib Mia said police visited the spot after receiving information.
