4 officers, one employee of Petrobangla suspended for involvement in attack on head office
Four officers and one employee of Petrobangla have been temporarily suspended for their alleged involvement in the incident of attack at the Petrobangla headquarters in the city on Tuesday, reports UNB.
They are Md. Tariqul Islam, Deputy Director (Research and Survey Projects), Md. Abdul Jalil, Deputy Director (Services), Md. Fazlul Problem, Manager (Planning Strategy), Mohammad Saifuddin, Manager (Engineering) and Md. Nazrul Islam, Senior Assistant, Administration Department, Petrobangla.
A section of officers and employees of the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC attacked the Petro Centre, headquarters of the state-owned oil, gas and mineral corporation Petrobangla, on Tuesday morning, protesting the appointment of its new managing director.
They ransacked the reception counter of Petrobangla on the ground floor with sticks. The glass partition of the reception counter was broken by the attackers.
They also demanded appointment of Titas MD from within their officers.
There was a scuffle between the security guards and the attackers, but no one was seriously injured.
